FAMILY MEDICINE
Family Medicine is a medical specialty that provides primary medical care to people of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Our doctors and Family Nurse Practitioner can manage most of your family''s healthcare needs. Should you need the services of another specialist, our doctors can help you select the best one for your situation and coordinate your care.
BOARD CERTIFICATION
Our doctors and Family Nurse Practitioner are all highly skilled, capable and experienced. Our Medical Staff Memebers are ALL board certified diplomats of the American Board of Family Medicine. To qualify for board certification, physicians received a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school and completed a three-year residency in the specialty of family medicine, where they received advanced training in pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics, internal medicine, cardiology, psychiatry, geriatrics, orthopedics, dermatology, minor surgery and preventive medicine. To certify for diplomat status, they passed a comprehensive examination in family medicine. To keep their diplomat status, our doctors continually update their skills and education and regularly complete an examination required by the American Board of Family Medicine. In addition to high marks for education and ability, our doctors genuinely care about their patients and treat them as individuals.

Our medical staff leads a healthcare team that includes nurses, lab technicians and office personnel. We are committed to ensuring that your healthcare needs are met in an efficient and compassionate manner. Our staff members have completed specific educational and training requirements to insure your care is delivered with compassion and expertise. The quality of our service is a source of pride for all employees.
OFFICE HOURS
The Family Medicine Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To make an appointment, call 363-DOCS (3627).
URGENT CARE
Same-day appointments are available for established patients for minor emergencies and acute illnesses. To avoid excessive waiting time, call 363-3627 for an appointment. If you walk in without an appointment, we will do our best to see you within a reasonable period of time.
PRESCRIPTIONS
Office visits are usually required for prescription refills. The prescription will indicate the appropriate number of refills. Additional refills are not routinely authorized over the phone. After presicription requests have been faxed from the pharmacy to the clinic, please allow at least 48 hours from the time of request for prescriptions to be completed. Please do not call the office prior to that time. When you are on your last refill, call to schedule an appointment. For those with mail-in pharmacy benefits, please anticipate your needs. We do not call in to 1-800 pharmacy numbers, and it may take up to two weeks for your prescription to be filled.
HOSPITALIZATION
Our doctors admit patients to Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital. Rounds are made at least once daily and more frequently if necessary. We will be happy to talk with family members at that time.
PAYMENT FOR SERVICES
Payment at the time of service is preferred. Payment plans may be arranged on an individual basis with one of the Billing Representatives. Otherwise, balances must be paid within 90 days of the service date. For your convenience, we except payment by cash, check, Visa and Mastercard. We do bill several insurance carriers (see the insurance listing.)
As participating providers, we will submit your insurance claims for you, however, the basic responsibility for payment is yours. All co-payments are due at the time of your visit.
AFTER HOURS COVERAGE
For after hours and weekend problems, we have a call-sharing arrangement with other Board Certified Family Physicians in the area. The on-call physician should be called only if your problem is of such urgency that it cannot wait until you see your regular physician. The on-call physician will usually not call in pain medication, antibiotics or prescription refills, as your regular physician should handle these during office hours. Please anticipate your needs, especially for weekends and holidays. To reach the on-call doctor, please call 363-3627. If your problem is a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 or go directly to the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Their phone number is 375-4440.
